Literary Culture and Moral Philosophy in Korea
How literary and philosophical traditions that developed in tension in China came to be understood as compatible in medieval and early modern Korea. The study examines the reception of Su Shi 蘇軾 (1037–1101) and Zhu Xi 朱熹 (1130–1200) over generations, and whether literary distinction and moral cultivation served as different forms of scholarly standing.

Machine Interpretation and Historical Reasoning
Persona-vector steering and sparse-autoencoder analysis examine how language models represent the intellectual positions and worldviews of historical scholars. These experiments investigate whether interventions in a model’s internal activations can alter its interpretations without fine-tuning the underlying model, and what its internal representations reveal about those responses.
